Southern Comfort Furniture

My birthday is coming up next week and my hubby wanted to know what I wanted. Hmmm, I said, "a little Mommy's timeout!" So, he packed up the kids and went camping with two other dads and their kids. I had a day and a half, alone in my house. What did I do? A whole lotta DIY projects, that's what. I did over 10 hours on Saturday alone. Can you say heaven?

This is probably my favorite project that I completed this weekend. I had found the wood crate at a consignment store and loved it! I didn't know how I would use it, but I snatched it up in an instant. I knew my hubby would give it a thumbs up because it was an old Southern Comfort crate.

I decided to turn it into a unique end table. It was a pretty easy project. All I had to do was purchase some furniture legs. I found some at a Home Improvement store.

I used an oil bronze spray paint. I wanted to color to coordinate with the great graphics on the crate. I drilled four 1/4" holes in the bottom corners of the crate and then simply screwed in the legs. And, it has a built in bonus. The top flips up for extra storage. Nice!

Voila! A cool new Down Home DIY end table. My hubby finds great "comfort" in the fact that it was on old Southern Comfort crate. I find great "comfort" in the fact that it was handmade, Down Home Style!

Be sure to check back, I will be posting my other fun new projects.

p.s. Did I mention that my hubby totally ROCKS!?!?!

Happy Monday and all its makings,
~MB
