Bad Mommy Blogger

We have been at my dad's for a few days and I have no pictures to share. Isn't that horrible? We have been having fun though. The girls have been playing in their little wading pools. We even broke out the Little Tikes slide and put it in the pool. Crazy fun, right? I love that they get as much joy out of the tiny kiddie pool as a big pool and this mama feels much safer with them in the tiny pool after seeing Pumpkin's reaction to the wide, open ocean. (She had a fit because I wouldn't let go of her and let her run into the ocean.)

We have been staying up late. Peanut sleeps in. Pumpkin does not. I am really tired but a fun, good tired. We're just relaxing and keeping Gigi busy.

Wednesday night Gigi took us out to eat. We had Special Friend come along since we hadn't seen her since the accident. Pumpkin took her role as comic relief VERY seriously! She was a hoot all night. She made every silly face known to man, laughed hysterically at her own antics and just cracked us up! It was the funniest mood I have seen her in yet. She gets such a kick out of herself especially when she has those around her in stitches. After supper we drove to a little lake and let the girls play. They splashed in the water. Peanut plopped herself down and sat in the water. Did I mention they were in their regular clothes? They had a blast playing and being doted on!

Last night Gigi took us to a Bluegrass Sing. I met some extended family that I didn't know which was really cool. They LOVED the girls. During the concert Peanut sidled herself up beside this older gentleman and started talking his ear off. He grinned from ear to ear. Peanut came over to me and said, "Mom, can he come to our house to play?" I'm not sure who was more smitten. It was the cutest thing ever!

Today we introduced Gigi to the world of splash pads. I ADORE SPLASH PADS (for above reason...safer than a big pool). I definitely keep a close eye on the girls but I feel more at ease. They had a ball playing in the water and on the playground. My sweet friend and her kids just happened to be there having a family day so it was a WIN, WIN!

There is a big reason why we just happen to be at Gigi's. On Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. we got a phone call from our realtor who told us the closing on our house that we are selling was to be the very next day at 4:00 p.m. We scurried around and got things ready to head north. Wednesday morning and afternoon we cleared the rest of our things out of the house. We had a trailer, truck, and 2 van loads of stuff. UGH! Most of it is stuff we can either pitch or give away, thank goodness. Right now it has made a home in Gigi's barn awaiting the commencement of sorting. I keep putting that off. Anyways...we closed. The house belongs to someone else. That is bittersweet but the fact that we no longer have a house payment and a rent payment is very SWEET! We made it through this year by God's continual provision and care of my little family.

I have a post in my head that I will write later about this house. It will always have a very special place in my heart as will the little town it is in. More to come on that....

We will be at Gigi's for a few more days. Daddy had to head back home for work and school. The girls are having a ball playing and living the country life. You know you're in the country when you can let the kids play in the kiddie pool in their underwear and diaper.

I promise to take some pics soon and post them. I've been out of it with my camera and a bit exhausted from all that we got done on Wednesday and lack of sleep.
