The Futuristic Photo Booth

It seems in recent years there has been a resurgence of the “photo booth”. I am constantly seeing them at special events and mall locations. Though they differ widely in experience and quality the idea of taking your own picture is always appealing. It’s interesting to me how relaxed people are in front of a camera when there is nobody behind it. It’s as if we feel psychologically that if another person is pressing the button and looking at us they are somehow judging us or mentally critiquing what they see. That entire mental dilemma goes out the window when you have the button in your hand and nobody is looking but you.

I have used many photo booths over the years however my favorite photo booth is the HD Photobooth. My best friend hired them for her private party recently. There are quite a few things that really make it stand out from the rest. They say it best on their website what the differences are http://www.hdphotobooth.com/faq/faq-hdphotobooth.html but I will summarize my own experience.

First of all the pictures look amazing. This machine uses the highest quality digital equipment, lighting, and has some custom software/filters that are applied to each image that make everyone look perfect. I wish this thing could follow me around all day so my skin always looked like that. Normally I would be self conscious of my image being immediately displayed on large plasma screens for everyone to see however this thing makes you look good!

I love the fact that you are in complete control of the image capture. I have used many photo booths that have the common countdown timer. The problem is that often during the countdown you don’t see yourself anymore on the screen. Other times you can see yourself but your never quite sure the exact moment the thing will take. Is it right after 1, or a second after 0? The HD Photobooth has one button that takes the image the exact moment you press it while you are looking at yourself. It’s that simple.

HD Photobooth is a beautiful freestanding machine. It looks like a giant ipod or something that Apple made. I actually prefer not crawling into a booth, as I don’t want to wrinkle my dress or get into a hot box. The HD Photobooth you can comfortably stand in front of it by yourself or with a big group of people yet maintain privacy during image capture.

Like most photo booths the HD Photobooth provides instant printing. What is really cool though is that your image instantly appears on large plasma screens with these cool slideshow effects. I’ve seen similar screens with captured images from other operations but none of them were instant like this one. HD Photobooth also provides unlimited free online downloads from there website for all guests the next day.

The guys that were running the operation were super nice and my friend was so happy she hired them. The thing actually took over the party as everyone was obsessed with taking their own pictures. I highly recommend them for your next event. If you want to hire them their website is http://www.hdphotobooth.com/
